An analog recording of a video uses physical changes in the recording medium to represent the information, i.e., grooves in a vinyl album or chronograph. Digital recording devices convert the video or sound in pieces called bits, which represent 1s and 0's. Computers read the different combinations of these 1s and 0s and interpret them.

A movie is a collection of still images taken by a high speed camera. The images are played back faster than the eye can register them, so, it appears as if what you are watching is one continuous action.
